‘There’s no prize for #2’: SCDP issues statement on Haley after fourth GOP debate

Following the fourth Republican debate of the 2024 presidential election, the South Carolina Democratic Party (SCDP) issued a statement on former governor Nikki Haley.

Haley was one of the four candidates present during the debate on Dec. 6.

“In her desperate race for second place, Nikki Haley has tripled down on her extreme agenda to ban abortion nationwide, hand out tax cuts to the wealthy at the expense of working families, and end Medicare and Social Security as we know them,” SCDP spokesperson Alyssa Bradley said in her statement. “No matter how it’s packaged, Haley is extreme and always has been.”

“She tried to spin that record on the debate stage, but South Carolinians remember life under Haley’s governorship and know how much worse off the country would be if she took that agenda to the Oval Office,” Bradley continued in her statement. “Thankfully, there’s no prize for #2.”
