The No. 4 ranked USC women’s swimming and diving team won three individual and one relay title on Saturday, March 2 to close out the final evening of competition at the 2024 Pac-12 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.USC wrapped up their final Pac-12 Championships with 1291 points, enough to claim the runner-up title. Cal won the meet with 1397.5 points, while Stanford was third with 1283 points. The Women of Troy won nine total conference titles, the most since 2003 when the Trojans also won nine events.The evening began with the 1650y freestyle as Trojan juniorclocked a 16:22.73 to touch fourth in the event. Michigan grad transferfinished 16in 16:44.00.Moving into the 200y backstroke, freshmanwas the lone Trojan representative in the championship final, clocking a 1:54.38 for fifth.(1:57.39) was fourth in the consolation final, whiletouched 8in 1:58.45.USC carried momentum into the final three events of the meet, as the Trojans captured the 200y breast, 200y fly and 400y freestyle relay.Freshman, who claimed the 200y freestyle yesterday, returned today to win her second conference crown, this time in the 100y free. Abraham clocked a 47.69 as she led a 1-2 Trojan finish in the event.was shortly behind Abraham in 47.72. The pair of Trojans were the only athletes under the 48 second mark in the event. USC’s(48.20) and(48.65) touched fifth and seventh, respectively in the A-final.Sophomoretouched fifth in the consolation final of the 100y free, clocking a 49.04, improving from her preliminary time of 49.05.Trojan seniorclaimed her seventh conference crown on Saturday evening, winning the 200y breaststroke in 2:06.58. With the win, Dobler becomes the second Trojan to win three Pac-12 200y breaststroke titles and is the first to win seven total breaststroke crowns. Olympic Gold medalist Rebecca Soni won six titles from 2006-2009.USC captured its third relay title of the weekend as Buinaia, Delgado, Tuggle and Abraham combined to clock a 3:11.09 and out-touch Stanford by just .02 seconds. The relay win marked just the second USC victory in the event (also won in 2020) and the 10all-time conference relay title for the Women of Troy.In the diving well, it would be two-time Pac-12 championwho’d claim the women’s platform diving competition with a final score of 353.60. With the win, Agunbiade picked up her third conference crown and second platform title. Also appearing in the championship final was freshman, who finished third with 286.35 points.rounded out the field in eighth with 227.00 points in the A-final.A pair of Trojans reached the consolation final of the platform diving competition, with(234.35) and(205.95) finishing second and sixth, respectively in the B-final.The USC diving squad now turns its attention to the upcoming NCAA Zone E Diving Championships (March 11-13) in Flagstaff, Ariz., where the Trojans will vie for spots at the 2024 NCAA Diving Championships.
