Chevy Corvette And Camaro ZL1 Stolen From Pennsylvania Showroom: Video

Thieves targeted two high-performance Bow Tie models in a late-night heist at Renn Kirby Chevrolet Dealership in Adams County, Pennsylvania last week. Suspects employed a Chevy Equinox to breach the showroom before making off with a silver 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe and a yellow 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible. The incident, captured on surveillance video, shows the dramatic entry and escape, leaving a shattered facade in their wake.

Video of the incident was posted online showing a white Chevy Equinox as it rams the glass wall on one side of the dealer showroom. After breaking the glass, one of the suspects hops into the open Chevy Camaro Convertible, then drives through the breach. The video also shows the Equinox breaking through a different section of the glass showroom wall, creating a hole through which the thieves escape with the Chevy Corvette. Multiple camera angles show the heist in progress, as well as the thieves making their getaway.

According to a report from CBS 21 News, police successfully recovered the Chevy Corvette in Maryland, though details surrounding its condition remain undisclosed. The Camaro, however, continues to elude law enforcement.

The 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray Coupe is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, delivering up to 495 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Convertible is equipped with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine and boasts 650 horsepower, making it a favorite among performance enthusiasts.

Interestingly, the Chevy Camaro has also been a favorite among car thieves. As GM Authority covered in March, Chevy Camaro theft surged over 1,000 percent in the city of Los Angeles, California during the first few months of the 2024 calendar year. The surge in theft coincided with an increase in stolen Camaros appearing at illegal street takeovers.
