Vietnam Veterans of America, or VVA, family members and Chico Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution members “Welcomed Home” Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #582 members on April 20, 2024 at a commemorative partner presentation for the Vietnam Veterans of America 50th Anniversary Celebration with a Commemorative Flag and 50th Anniversary Lapel Pins. Michele Lehane, Regent, Chico Chapter, NSDAR, was honored and privileged to officiate the VVA 50th Anniversary Presentation for Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 582. Alma Roots, DAR Service to Veterans, Chapter Committee Chair, presented Warren Roll, president of VVA Chapter 582 and his chapter members, Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins, a commemorative VVA 50th Anniversary Flag, a Unit Citation, and a Presidential Proclamation.
Friends and family members showed their appreciation with applause and cheers as VVA members received their pins. Photos were taken of each member who received a pin. A group photo was taken with all vets holding their commemorative VVA 50th Anniversary flag.
After the presentation, the Vets served a delicious BBQ Chicken lunch to the crowd. Chico DAR provided a beautiful cake decorated with an American Flag and piped writing which said, “Welcome Home VVA Chapter 582.” This heartfelt occasion was enjoyed by all.
