Colerain Twp. hires website designer to rebuild online presence

What happened: The board voted to hire Judy Keller to build a new website for the township.

Background: The township has been using Revise LLC, based in Michigan, to maintain the website, but there have been several comments from the public over the last several months that the site is difficult to navigate. Carmen Wiker, township secretary, said the site is sometimes difficult to update, and agreed that it can be challenging for users to find everything they are looking for.

The cost: Revise LLC’s annual cost is $1,200, with renewal due in September. Keller will be paid $40 per hour as needed.

What’s next: Keller will work with Wiker to set up a new website that Wiker can update as needed. Keller will be available to assist with information technology issues if any should arise.

Property citation: Eric Frey, township solicitor, told the board and audience that the township zoning officer filed citations against Virginia Mellott for trash and unregistered vehicles on the property at 1704 Kirkwood Pike. The case is scheduled to go before the district judge in late July.

More: The township is unlikely to renew Mellott’s trailer park permit for that location at this time, Frey said.
