The 22-year-old Irishman has played once for the Tigers’ first team – starting last season’s FA Cup third round replay defeat by Birmingham City in January.
A knee injury suffered in that game has kept him out of competitive action since.
The bulk of Furlong’s first-team experience has come during a loan spell with Scottish Premiership side Motherwell during the second half of the 2022-23 season.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 left-back began his career in his homeland before moving to Brighton’s academy.
