Mamudesign, the developer who brought us the “Powerlines and Solar Farms” and “Marinas” mods for MSFS, has launched his latest creation: EDAQ Halle-Oppin Airport in Germany. It’s the developer’s first airport add-on and comes with a fun mission system for helicopter pilots!
This rendition of Halle-Oppin Airport, located north of Halle, Germany, seems to be a customary upgrade to a default airport, adding custom 3D buildings, vibrant PBR texturing, and accurate ground markings. Notable features include a working helipad dolly, animated gates, custom night lighting, and even a modeled tower interior with functional instruments.
What sets this addon apart is its mission system. Simmers can engage in 12 different helicopter missions, each with its own narrative and objectives. These missions, accessed through the DRF Hangar Office, challenge players to navigate to specific coordinates and perform precise landings within a one-hour time limit.
Mamudesign has also included a bonus “secret mission” that becomes accessible after completing the main missions. This additional challenge involves rescuing a girl trapped on a moving truck!
The addon also caters to helicopter enthusiasts with its detailed representation of the dedicated DRF Luftrettung area. This includes an open hangar with automated doors, landable platforms, and a working HPAPI light for night landing practice.
