Bells will ring across York County to mark its 275th birthday this month.
The event will be held from noon to 12:05 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
Schools, churches, organizations, fire departments and even residents are invited to participate.
Bells were used to communicate important information years ago, call residents to gather and mark significant events, according to a news release.
“Let’s fill the air with the joyful sound of bells ringing out in unison across the county!” the release states. “Encourage your friends, family, & neighbors to participate. The more bells, the merrier the celebration!”
