Flora Linda (Menke) Sardina, born on February 12, 1927, in Medina, New York, peacefully passed away on August 8, 2024, in San Diego, California, at the age of 97. Linda was the devoted wife of John B. Sardina, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. They were married in 1959 and, until John’s passing in 2006, enjoyed a life full of love, laughter, and family. She was the mother of five sons and the grandmother of seven, all of whom she loved with selfless devotion.Linda was known for her humility, kindness to all, and devotion to God. She had a great love for her family and her hometown of Medina, New York, about which she had countless stories. She was the daughter of Joseph and Ervanna (Bowen) Menke, and grew up with her cherished sister Joanne. Linda earned her bachelor’s degree in 1948 at the University of Michigan, where she was a proud member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Education. She is fondly remembered as an elementary school teacher in Lyndonville, NY, where she left a lasting impression on her students and the community. She was an active parish member and volunteer teacher at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church in San Diego for more than 30 years. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, education, and a life well-lived.Linda was predeceased by her husband, John B. Sardina 2006, and son, Jeffrey A. Sardina 1990. She is survived by four sons: John (Sarah), Joe (Stephanie), Jim (Monica), and Jason (Suzanne), as well as seven grandchildren: Jackie, Ronnie, Emily, Jessie, Jeffrey, Megan, and Callie.Visitation will be held at El Camino Mortuary, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, on Monday, August 19th, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Mother of Confidence Catholic Church, 3131 Governor Drive in San Diego, on Tuesday, August 20th at 10:00 a.m. Interment at El Camino Cemetery immediately following.
