Namesake founder of Inna’s Pierogi Shop sells business to catering company owner

The namesake founder of Inna’s Pierogi Shop has sold the business to new operators who plan to maintain the cafe near Lititz and its stand at Lancaster Central Market as well as its name.

Emily Gonzalez and Michael Ortiz paid $200,000 for the business that was begun in 2019 by Inna Kondramashin as Tanya’s Tasty Treats. Kondramashin, who initially operated at the former Lancaster Marketplace in Manheim Township, soon changed the name of her business after refocusing it on making and selling pierogies that were a staple of her native Ukraine.

Gonzalez said she will maintain the operations of Inna’s Pierogi Shop, which has a production facility at Artisan Mill Co. outside Lititz where there is also a cafe and small retail store. In addition to selling the retail customers, Inna’s Pierogies has a wholesale business selling to restaurants and grocery stores.

Emily Gonzalez also owns Gem Catering, a business she said she plans to continue while operating Inna’s Pierogis with her ex-husband, Michael Ortiz.

Kondramashin said was driving by Gonzalez’ catering business and was inspired to get in touch with her with an offer to sell her own business. “We both felt like this was the right time, the right business and the right fit for both of us,” she said.…Read more by CHAD UMBLE | Staff Writer
