New Castle (4-5) will take on Hoosier Heritage Conference rival Pendleton Heights (4-5) in round one at Pendleton. The Trojans lost to the Arabians 42-21 in the regular season.

Yorktown (6-3) will hit the road to take on Richmond (1-8) in round one. The Tigers have won three of their last four games.

Muncie Central (2-7) will travel to take on Logansport (8-1) in the first round. The Bearcats finished off the regular season with a 55-14 win over Richmond on Oct. 19.

Jay County (2-7) will hit the road to take on Bellmont (0-9). After starting the year 2-1, the Patriots have lost their last six, but have a good chance to break that streak against the winless Braves.

Delta (4-5) will host Heritage (8-1) for their first round game. After a 3-0 start to the year, the Eagles are 1-5 in their last six games.

Two teams in The Star Press’ East-Central Indiana coverage zone drew each other in the Section 38 bracket. Winchester (4-5) will host Shenandoah (5-4) in the first round.

Blackford (2-7) will take on the Eastern Comets (5-4) in their first round game. The Bruins have played a very tough schedule in the Central Indiana Conference, including top-ranked teams like Mississinewa and Madison-Grant.

Wes-Del (5-4) will host Tri (6-3) in the first round. The Warriors have won five of their last six and clinched their first winning record in the regular season since 2016.

Monroe Central (6-3) will take on one of the top-ranked 1A teams in the state in Madison-Grant (8-1).
