When D.C. got its first holiday-themed pop-up bar, all the way back in 2015, the experience was so novel that people waited for hours on the sidewalk outside the Miracle on Seventh Street in Shaw just for a chance to order a cocktail called “Francisco, That’s Fun to Say,” take photos in front of a wall of tinsel, and sing along to “Christmas Wrapping.” Miracle radiated such happiness that it expanded into three adjacent bars the next year — and inspired countless imitators, including a Hanukkah-themed bar a few blocks away.
