Acknowledging the challenges the team has faced recently, Lampaert spoke about the evolving dynamics in the classics. “You can see that in the performances of the last 2 years. Things are not going as smoothly in the classics as they used to, but thanks to a few young guys we can approach the classics with courage again.”

He highlighted the potential of rising talents within the team, singling out Paul Magnier. “I think of Paul Magnier, who has a lot of substance. As a neo-pro he came 2nd in Plouay. Then you can also participate in Kuurne or Wevelgem. We should definitely play in those smaller classics.”

Looking to his own ambitions for the year, Lampaert expressed a strong desire to return to top form in the spring races. “I hope to ride finals again and I definitely want to compete again in Roubaix. Last year was a disappointment, but I hope we’ll be back on track this year.”

In addition to his goals in the classics, Lampaert emphasised his role within the team structure, particularly in support of key teammates. “I have my value in Tim’s sprint train and in the middle mountains I can support Remco,” he said, underlining his versatility and experience.…Read more by
