THEIR FATHER, TOMMY ALLEN, REMAINS IN THE HOSPITAL. THIS NEW STATEMENT FROM FIRE OFFICIALS CONFIRMS THAT EIGHT FIREFIGHTERS WERE HURT, SOME FROM ELECTRICAL HAZARDS, OTHERS FROM BURNS. Fire officials provide new details on response to house fire that killed mother, 5 children Fire officials have released new details about the response to a deadly Clarksville house fire that killed six people, including five children, earlier this week.The Clinton-Warren Joint Fire District says they were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Main St. for a reported fire with trapped occupants at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday. The first company arrived on scene within two minutes of initial dispatch and was met with heavy fire and smoke.Officials say they deployed an aggressive attack line and made an interior push through the front door for a search of occupants. During this process, one person was found and subsequently transferred to arriving EMS crews for immediate treatment before being transported to a hospital for further treatment.Authorities say attempts to put out the fire from the interior, as well as attempts to locate those trapped inside, were met by “extremely adverse” conditions, which led to the impeding of progress. Crews reported obstacles such as structural failure due to the collapse of an interior stairwell, persistent heavy fire and smoke and live electrical hazards.During attempts to locate and extract trapped occupants, multiple firefighters sustained minor injuries, such as electrical shock exposure and burns.Officials say eight firefighters sustained injuries, with four being evaluated at a hospital. All were treated and released.Six people were located by crews. Tragically, all six died, including five children.Once all suppression operations were completed, the scene was turned over to the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire remains under investigation.
