After plenty of solid spring sports performers over the last week, here are the Journal Star high school girls athlete of the week nominees for March 16-21, presented by CEFCU.

The sophomore picked up a big season-debuting win last week. Duncheon tossed a four-hitter, striking out 12 and intentionally walking one as East Peoria squeaked out a 1-0, nine-inning victory over Brimfield/Elmwood on Friday.
The sophomore put together an outstanding offensive output. Boze hit .571 in two games last week, including a 2-for-3 effort with two home runs and four RBIs in a 18-6, six-inning road victory over Midwest Central on Saturday.
The freshman made a big impression in her varsity debut last week. Lefler posted a hat trick Thursday as PND beat nonconference visitor Rock Island Alleman, 9-0. She then scored a goal in Saturday’s 3-0 road win over Troy Triad.
The senior ran a season best in just her second indoor meet last week. Green won the 400-meter dash in 59.00 seconds on Saturday at the Bloomington Indoor Invitational hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.
The freshman made a big impression in her first varsity appearance last week. Shepherd scored four goals and assisted on three more as Dunlap beat Burlington Central, 10-6 on Saturday.
