Primary election season is heating up as voters in six states head to the polls on Tuesday, June 2.
They will determine which candidates will be on ballots come November’s general midterm elections in California, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota.
The offices up for grabs vary by state, but many include U.S. House, Senate and gubernatorial seats. Other state government and local offices may also be on the ballot.
Races to watch include California’s gubernatorial race as Gov. Gavin Newsom hits his term limit this year. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass will also face challengers, including former reality TV star Spencer Pratt, in the June 2 election.
Iowa, New Mexico and South Dakota will also hold gubernatorial primaries with high stakes of their own.
