Missing grandmother who traveled to Las Vegas for vacation found dead, family confirms

LAS VEGAS (FOX5/Gray News) — A missing New York grandmother who vanished after traveling to Nevada has died, family members confirmed.

Alisa Goods, 63, had been the subject of an intensive search in Las Vegas since she disappeared on Aug. 16.

On Friday, Goods’ family confirmed that she was found deceased.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said dispatch received a call for service at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, dispatch received a call for service about a woman found dead in a drainage ditch near Wayne Newton Boulevard and the Terminal 1 parking garage at Harry Reid Airport.

Police said surveillance video from the airport shows she fell down an embankment, got back up, then collapsed on Aug. 8.

Police said she did not move after that and her location could not be seen from the street. An early investigation identified the woman as Goods.

Goods had traveled to Las Vegas for a vacation.

According to her family, she was last seen near East Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane.

Her family grew increasingly concerned after she missed her flight back to New York. Relatives previously traveled from New York to Las Vegas to spearhead search efforts, distributing flyers and pleading with the public for help in locating her.

Details regarding the cause and manner of her death have not yet been released.
