Just in: Barcelona director convinces Ronald Araujo to stay; contract renewal possible soon

The Ronald Araujo saga at FC Barcelona seems poised for a dramatic turnaround. The Uruguayan centre-back was determined to leave the club during this winter transfer window.

However, now, according to Mundo Deportivo, the 25-year-old is reconsidering his decision following efforts by Deco.

The sporting director’s intervention could not only keep Araujo at the club but also lead to a contract renewal soon, extending his current deal beyond 2026.

With negotiations seemingly headed in a positive direction, Araujo’s potential renewal would mark a significant boost for Barcelona as they look to secure the future of their defensive stalwart.…Read more by Barca Universal
