Two very different songs from two very different eras have reached the same digital milestone. YouTube confirmed this week that music videos from The Weeknd and KISS have each surpassed one billion views on the platform.

For The Weeknd, the milestone belongs to Blinding Lights. Released in 2019, the song became a global hit almost immediately and never really faded. Strong radio play, constant streaming, and steady use across social platforms helped keep the video in heavy rotation years after its debut.

KISS reached the same mark with I Was Made for Lovin’ You, a track first released in 1979. Long popular with fans, the song has seen a major resurgence online, driven in part by viral clips and renewed interest from younger listeners.
