Piush Kothari, the Executive Vice President and Head of Subscriptions (SVOD) and Media at JioHotstar, has resigned after more than six years with the organization. Kothari announced his departure through a LinkedIn post, reflecting on his tenure within the Disney and JioHotstar ecosystem. During his time with the company, he was primarily responsible for driving SVOD revenue and subscriber growth, while also contributing to the firm’s media center of excellence.
Kothari’s career within the Disney network began in 2019, where he initially served as the Head of Business Operations for Mashal Sports, overseeing the Pro Kabaddi League. His role evolved to encompass corporate strategy and special projects across entertainment, sports, and studio operations. He eventually moved into a global leadership position for Disney+ Hotstar, where he managed product development, strategic partnerships, and international expansion into key markets such as the United Kingdom, Canada, and Singapore.
Before transitioning into the media and entertainment sector, Kothari built a diverse professional portfolio with leadership roles at several global corporations. His earlier experience includes stints at Shell, Accenture, the Aditya Birla Group, and Welspun Group.
