Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany, Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken a swipe at media entrepreneur and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, declaring that his political relevance would diminish further ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fani-Kayode made the remarks while reacting to Momodu’s recent criticism of him and Reno Omokri, whom the ADC stalwart had described as lacking credibility.

In a post shared on his X handle, the former minister said he found Momodu’s response to his earlier article amusing, insisting that he had exercised restraint in his initial comments.

He, however, stated that Momodu’s reaction suggested emotional instability rather than a reasoned rebuttal, adding that the publisher appeared to be struggling with a declining political influence.

Fani-Kayode further argued that Momodu was fighting a lost cause and had become a shadow of his former self, maintaining that his “glory days” were over.

Projecting ahead to the 2027 elections, he expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would secure re-election, predicting that Momodu would retreat from the political scene thereafter.

He also dismissed references to his past criticisms of Tinubu, noting that such comments were made during his time in the opposition and should not be used to question his current stance.
