Bruce Springsteen took his Land of Hope and Dreams Tour to Los Angeles on Tuesday and as he took to the stage, he hit out at ‘corrupt and incompetent’ Donald Trump
Bruce Springsteen had a message for Donald Trump as he took his Land of Hope and Dreams Tour to Los Angeles.
The 76-year-old rocker performed at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, on Tuesday, April 7. As he took to the stage, Springsteen shared a six-word criticism of the president, saying he is “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous.”
Springsteen has been criticizing Trump throughout his tour, previously warning we are “living through some very dark times.” Trump shot back at the musician on Truth Social as he took aim at Springsteen’s appearance. “Is Bruce Springsteen going to sue his plastic surgeon?” he mocked.
Speaking with concert-goers on Tuesday night, Springsteen began, “Good evening Los Angeles. Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. We want to begin the night with a prayer for our men and women in service overseas. We pray for their safe return.
“Now, the mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll, in dangerous times. We are here in celebration and defense of our American ideals, democracy, our Constitution.”
The Born in the U.S.A. hitmaker continued, “The America I love, the America I’ve written about for 50 year’s that’s been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous administration.”
Springsteen paused while fans applauded. He then said, “Tonight, we ask all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, truth over lies, unity over division and peace over war.”
He then started playing Edwin Starr’s hit song War. Springsteen’s latest comments against Trump come after the president slammed him on social media.

Writing on Truth Social after Springsteen’s first Land of Hope and Dreams show, Trump said, “Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
The president went on to brand the star “a total loser who spews hate,” while boasting about his own political success. He added, “The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, an 86% of the Counties across America.”
Trump finished his rant by asking his supporters to boycott the singer. “MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DJT.”
In a follow-up post, Trump asked, “Is Bruce Springsteen going to sue his plastic surgeon?” His rant came just hours after Springsteen used his tour opener to tear into the president, accusing him of corruption and claiming he “can’t handle the truth.”
