On Saturday morning, Israeli soldiers killed a young Palestinian man in Khirbet Salama village, west of Doura town, southwest of Hebron in the occupied West Bank’s southern part.
Media sources said the soldiers fired live rounds at Mohammad Ahmad Sweity, 25, after he reportedly approached an illegal Israeli colony built on Palestinian lands.
They added that after the fatal shooting, the soldiers refused to allow Palestinian medics to approach the area and took his body to an unknown destination.
In a statement, the Israeli army claimed that the Palestinian “infiltrated Negohot settlements in the Hebron Hills while wielding a knife” before he was “spotted and neutralized.”
Israeli “Jerusalem Post” said confirmed that the army killed the Palestinian, early on Saturday morning, after he “infiltrated Negohot,” and added that more soldiers were deployed in the area to conduct searches.
On April 16, Israeli soldiers killed Mohammad Morad Rayyan, 17, in Beit Duqqu, northwest of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank.
