The Chicago Bulls got extremely lucky in the 2026 NBA draft lottery and beat the odds to pull the No. 4 pick. Now, the team has two Top 15 selections in the draft and the highest projected cap space in the NBA, so Bulls fans have reason to hope.
Also lucky for the Bulls, one of the most exciting prospects in the 2026 draft class will likely be available at No. 4 in forward Caleb Wilson of the North Carolina Tar Heels. Pretty much every post-lottery mock out there has the Bulls taking Wilson at No. 4, including ESPN, Sports Illustrated and The Athletic.
Now, Wilson is getting compared to some of the greatest NBA players of all time, and he hasn’t even been drafted yet.
Speaking on the Monday, May 11, episode of ESPN’s “Get Up,” college basketball analyst Jay Williams offered his projection for the top five picks. Unfortunately, he predicted Wilson ending up with the Memphis Grizzlies at No. 3 overall, which we hope doesn’t happen, but what he said about Wilson’s potential is what’s taking the spotlight.
“Caleb Wilson to me, in 10 years from now, when we re-draft this class, we could be talking about he should have been the first taken in this draft,” Williams stated on the show. “I think his upside is limitless. He’s a guy that showed he can play with the basketball, put the ball on the ground, and that shot-making ability is what is going to propel him in the draft.”

He added: “Caleb Wilson, watching him work out, has shown the ability to put the ball down on the ground. By the way, when I first saw him this year, the bar is Jermaine O’Neal, the ceiling, Kevin Garnett. Now, when I watch him play, the bar seems like Kevin Garnett, the ceiling seems more like Giannis [Antetokounmpo].”
Why Caleb Wilson is a Perfect Fit for the Chicago Bulls
It’s not difficult to see why Wilson is a favorite for the Bulls. All NBA superstar comparisons aside, he fits into new executive vice president of basketball operations Bryson Graham’s vision for fresh talent on this team.
Graham has what he calls the S.L.A.P principle, putting the focus on size, length, athleticism and physicality. Wilson, a six-foot-ten big man, more than meets those requirements.

Wilson is a powerful, above-the-rim player who’s simply a pleasure to watch. Drafting Wilson should be the easiest decision possible for Graham in his early time with the Bulls, so long as the Grizzlies don’t snatch him up first.
