The aim is to ‘transform’ the use of regenerative materials in British and European construction projects.

Developed by Reconomy, ROOT To Market Dynamic Market place has been developed by Woodknowledge Wales, a not-for-profit organisation championing the collaborative development of forest-based industries. The platform offers curated supply chains, procurement support, and training systems specifically for building firms. Regenerative and sustainable materials and practices are promoted and prioritised.

Not only is the goal to facilitate firms in looking for the best possible construction materials in environmental terms, it is also hoped the platform will help find and source the best talent in sustainable building. Morgan Sindall Construction, HLM Architects, Lignum Risk Partners, Cundall, Planit and Elliott Wood are all involved in the project.

‘We are proud to support ROOT to Market Dynamic Marketplace as part of our mission to accelerate the transition to a truly circular economy,’ said Jamie Roberts, Divisional Director for Construction, Housebuilding & Infrastructure, at Reconomy Connect. ‘By maximising re‑use, recovering value from materials, and preventing waste across the built environment lifecycle, we can help ensure resources are kept in use for longer and unlock the full potential of regenerative materials in UK construction.’

‘The marketplace is designed to build supply chain capacity rather than restrict it, assessing suppliers based on their maturity while actively supporting them to improve over time,’ said David Shields, Co-founder of Value Match. ‘This approach opens the door to a far broader range of organisations, including SMEs and regional producers, enabling more diverse and scalable participation across the industry.’…Read more by
