Brothers Osborne have stepped into the host chair alongside Elaina Smith for a week of Backstage Country, bringing their trademark humor, candid storytelling and plenty of behind-the-scenes insight to the show. The brothers immediately made themselves at home, promising listeners plenty of music and stories surrounding their new album, Watertown.

TJ and John Osborne debuted in 2012 and has been one of country music’s well-known duo. During their co-hosting stint, the brothers proved they’re not just made for the stage. “We were born for this,” TJ joked as the brothers prepared to co-host the show and guide listeners through the week. They planned to feature several songs from Watertown while sharing the stories and experiences that shaped them.

John added, “We’re not great at many things, but talking too much is one of them.”

Throughout the week, Brothers Osborne pulled back the curtain on tracks including the title track, “Born and Raised Hell,” “R.I.P.” “Family Business” and “Bottle It Up.”

TJ also revealed that “R.I.P.” is the song they really enjoyed playing live. “It was fun the day we wrote it, and it’s been super fun playing it live. It’s one of the first songs we featured off of our new record, Watertown.”

The duo also shared why they decided to include “Bottle It Up,” an outside cut to Watertown. “This was one of the first ones where I just got lost in the song when I heard the demo,” TJ said. “I was just driving down the road, and it went from me analyzing the song to just driving and bobbing my head to it and being ‘Dang, I like the way this makes me feel.”

Don’t miss the fun. Tune in to Backstage Country all week for more Brothers Osborne, follow TJ and John on their social media accounts, and subscribe to their YouTube channel for more music, videos and behind-the-scenes moments.…Read more by Yvette Dela Cruz
