The Oklahoma City Thunder completed their series sweep over the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, securing a 115-110 final score at Crypto.com Arena.
Reigning league MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the reigning NBA-champion Thunder, scoring a game-high 35 points. On the other side of the court, 41-year-old NBA superstar LeBron James recorded 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Gilgeous-Alexander was asked about James’ continued greatness during his postgame press conference after Game 4.
“It’s amazing what he’s doing out there at this age. It’s hard to put into words,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “He’s not very old in the grand scheme of life but for the NBA he’s pretty old. He was a force.
“The top of the scouting report all series. His size gave us issues at times. He was impressive out there,” he continued. “I’m not sure we’ll see anything like that. His longevity and his greatness. It was super fun. Glad I got to get four wins on him.”
James averaged 23.3 points, 6 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game through four contests against the Thunder. Through six games in Round 1 against the Houston Rockets, he averaged 23.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game.
