Many mightn’t give a damn, but what happens when the planet bites back? If we deplete essential planetary resources and accelerate endangered species extinction (including our own)? We will be left facing the negative health implications of environmental imbalance, due to our rampant usage of AI. What will become of us then?
People using AI to draft book outlines, write grocery list, develop apps, and other uses, mightn’t have stopped to think for a second, about the wider environmental and human health implications of AI tech use?
A monster dressed in fine clothing is still a monster, don’t be deceived about this.
Most people consider themselves logical intelligent beings, yet for what I’ve seen with the widespread acceptance of AI, I beg to differ.
It’s like intelligence has been suspended in favour of the taking the shortcut to achieving goals. In my opinion, it all comes down to laziness, whether people want to admit it or not .
Most people simply can’t be bothered to invest toil and sweat by engaging their minds towards their goals. I mean why engage in creative batlling to write a book, when one prompt can be flung into ChatGPT — et viola, a book is churned out in a matter of mere minutes? All you have to do is slap your name on the cover.
But what is this laziness costing us? and is it worth it in the longterm? This is the vital question that needs to be asked.
