This September will mark the launch of a new species of laptops that will not run on Windows but a completely new operating system by Google. Thanks to an official invitation to a media event taking place in New York, we now know when exactly we can expect all the new Googlebooks from Lenovo, Asus, Acer and HP to name just a few.
At Google I/O, the search engine company provided a first preview of a new class of laptops that will primarily replace Chromebooks but presumably also some Android-based tablets and 2-in-1 convertibles. It will run on a new operating system dubbed “AluminumOS.” although it remains to be seen whether this will be the final name for this new mix of Android and Chrome OS.
This will likely be one of the topics at a media event in New York, to which Chrome Unboxed has now received an invitation. The preview event will take place on September 15 and will also bring many new laptops from well-known manufacturers such as Asus, Acer, Lenovo, and HP, some of which have already been seen in leaked images over the past few days. Most recently, for example, a render of a new HP laptop (see above) was leaked by Evan Blass, which also gives us the first glimpse at Google’s new OS interface for laptops.…Read more by Alexander Fagot
