There’s been no shortage of trending prints to try this year. From polka dots and colourful stripes to wild animal hides and checks galore, each design has had its moment in the sun – and rain; we are getting into the cold-weather months now – in 2026. However, in amongst so much competing pattern, you’d be forgiven for sleeping on paisley.
In case you missed it, paisley print has been something of an underdog, quietly providing an alternative, boho-inspired look in the form of bandana scarf dresses in the summer and knitted triangle scarves as the autumn chill settled in. But unsung hero it shall be no more, as the ornate design, immediately recognisable by its kaleidoscopic swirls and teardrop motifs, is currently being splashed across knitwear in all the high street new-in collections across our favourite shopping destinations.
Top of our shopping lists is Next’s Paisley Scarf Detail Knit Look Jumper.
Available in a deep navy blue or a seasonal rust colourway, both designs feature paisley-printed detailing across the sleeves and hem in a contrasting white thread. While many similar paisley knits feature fringing to further tap into the trend, this Next number opts for something different that really sets it apart from the rest. We’re talking about the accompanying neck scarf, decorated in the same paisley print and designed to drape around the shoulders and knot at the neck. It effortlessly ticks off two trends in one to further its style credentials.
Cut in a classic crew-neck sweatshirt style with a loose fit, this jumper was made for wearing with denim to add a little extra something to your casual weekend ensembles. You can’t go wrong with wide-leg jeans or a denim midi skirt. Add a pair of boots and a trench coat over the top, and you’re good to go.
