The Essex and Hamburg school districts recently announced three finalists in their search for a shared superintendent.
The Southwest Iowa Herald reports that the school boards, working with Grundmeyer Leader Services, selected Steven Barber, Lance Ridgely and Ralph Watkins as their top contenders after reviewing eight candidates on Jan. 22. The board interviewed finalists on Feb. 1 and is expected to announce their selection imminently.
Barber currently serves as a high school science instructor in Worthington. He served as interim superintendent for Grinnell-Newburg and has 11 years of Iowa superintendent experience.
Ridgely is the director of student services at Clarinda, where he oversees special education programs. He is a previous superintendent of West Central Valley and East Union.
Watkins is currently the superintendent of the Chatham School District in Alaska. He is a previous superintendent of Hoonah City Schools in Alaska.…Read more by
