Press release from Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice:

Heart of the Redwoods Community Hospice invites you to attend their Fourth Annual Spring Garden Tour, to be held on Sunday, May 24th from 11am until 3pm. This year’s tour features five stunning coastal gardens in Shelter Cove. Attendees will meet at Mal Coombs Park adjacent to the lighthouse at 11am, where you will receive brochures and maps to the gardens. Carpooling is encouraged.

There will be a Hospice board member serving refreshments at each garden, and you can also purchase tickets for the Spring Garden Raffle, featuring a plethora of garden-themed prizes, many created by local craftspeople.

Each garden showcases the unique aesthetic of the resident gardener. For example, one garden sits on a bluff 300 feet above the Pacific Ocean and has a commanding view of the Lost Coast. It features three distinct garden areas, all containing a variety of perennials, with one area that is predominately purple roses. Another garden features a coy pond in a Japanese inspired landscape. And there is even a garden with a Banyan tree.

Tickets cost $50, and are available in advance at the Hospice office in Garberville, Redway Liquor & Deli and Whitethorn Construction. Graden Tour and raffle tickets will also be available at the Briceland and Garberville Farmers Markets.

For more information, please call the Hospice Office at 707 923-7276.…Read more by Staff
