Bengal T20 League 2026 Team of the Tournament ft. Shahbaz Ahmed, Karan Lal

Shrachi Rarh Tigers (SRT) won the Bengal T20 League 2026 in a thrilling final against Sobisco Smashers Malda (SSM). The final was played at the iconic Eden Gardens.

Batting first, the Shrachi Rarh Tigers posted a modest total of 165/4 on the board, led by a brilliant innings from skipper Shahbaz Ahmed. However, the Bengal T20 League 2026 final was cut short by rain, reduced to a nine-over affair when SSM walked out to chase a revised target of 107.

They fought hard, but eventually fell short, ending at 97/5. Winning by nine runs (DLS), Shrachi Rarh Tigers emerged champions for the very first time, capping off a memorable season.

That said, here is the Bengal T20 League 2026 team of the tournament.

Karan Lal once again displayed his class in the Bengal T20 League with a dominating performance throughout the season. He emerged as the highest run-getter for the second time in a row, scoring 396 runs from eight innings at an average of 49.50 and a strike rate of 151.72. The Siliguri Strikers opener also won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award. He also contributed with the ball, picking up 11 wickets from eight games.

Accompanying him at the top would be SSM opener Akhil. Akhil looked promising but made just 16 runs off five balls in the final. However, he ended as the third highest run-getter overall with 286 runs from nine innings at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 181.01. Akhil also claimed two wickets, coming in handy with the ball.

Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper batter Abhishek Porel, who played for the Kolkata Royal Tigers in the Bengal T20 League 2026, was the fourth highest run-getter in the tournament with 274 runs from six innings at an average of 68.50 and a strike rate of 159.30.

Vishal Bhati, Shakir Gandhi, and Gaurav Chauhan further make up for a power-packed middle order. Vishal of the Siliguri Strikers won the Rising Star of the Tournament award. He notched up 220 runs from eight innings at a strike rate of close to 140. Moreover, he also bagged nine wickets with the ball, showing his all-round abilities.

Gaurav Chauhan, the first centurion of the Bengal T20 League, smashed a 30-ball 55 for SRT in the final, playing a key role in their victory. Overall, he scored 200 runs from eight innings.

Shakir Habib Gandhi of the Adamas Howrah Warriors adds firepower to this lineup. He piled on 255 runs from six innings at an average of 51 and a strike rate of 163.46.

Star all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed, who led SRT to their maiden Bengal T20 League title, would captain this team as well. He lit up the final with a scintillating performance, smashing an unbeaten 88 off just 46 balls. Shahbaz indeed led from the front throughout the season. He ended as the highest run-getter and joint-highest wicket-taker for his team.

In eight innings, he scored 319 runs at an average of 53.17 and a strike rate of 150.47. With the ball, he bagged 12 wickets at an average of 20.50 and an economy rate of 8.84.

SSM pacer Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal topped the Bengal T20 League 2026 bowling charts, ending as the highest wicket-taker with 19 scalps from nine innings at an average of 12.84 and an economy rate of 8.13, including a big wicket of Gaurav Chauhan in the final.

His teammate and leg-spinner Prayas Ray Barman finished as the joint-second highest wicket-taker with 13 scalps at an average of 14.77 and an economy rate of 7.25.

Akhilesh Yadav of the Siliguri Strikers and Rohit Kumar of champions SRT wrap up this team. Akhilesh bagged 11 wickets from five games with a stunning average of 8.45 and an economy rate of 5.37.

Rohit delivered a crucial spell in the final, returning figures of 1/8 from two overs. He picked up 12 wickets from seven innings in the Bengal T20 League 2026 at an average of 13.75 and an economy rate of 7.17.…Read more by Rishab Vm
