MCD Budget 2024 Delhi Municipal Corporation Draft Budget Will Be Presented Tomorrow Mayor Shelly Oberoi

Delhi News: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) adjourned the special budget meeting scheduled for Friday till December 9 to present the revised budget estimates for 2023-24 and the budget estimates for 2024-25. This information has been given in an official notice. No reason for postponement has been given in the notice. A special budget meeting of the House has been rescheduled for Saturday. The notice said that this meeting will be held at 2 PM.

The revised budget estimate was to be presented to MCD Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti in a special budget meeting at the municipal headquarters. The BJP condemned the adjournment of the meeting and alleged that copies of the budget were not provided to the councillors. Leader of Opposition in MCD Raja Iqbal Singh said, “BJP strongly condemns any move to postpone the budget.” According to MCD’s calendar, the annual budget is presented by December 10. Raja Iqbal Singh said, however, it was decided to present the budget on December 8, because December 9 and 10 are weekends.

On the other hand, Mayor Shaili Oberoi has said that the first transparent draft budget plan of the AAP-led government will be presented in MCD. The budget will be finalized by Delhi’s Janata Ki Salah. The budget will be decided after 50-100 meetings in two months with market association, youth, women, RWA, unofficial, JJ cluster and rural areas. The people of Delhi can give their opinion on the budget at [email protected]. Based on these suggestions, the budget of Delhi MCD government will be made.

Shaili Oberoi further said that whether the suggestion is from the ruling party or the opposition party, if it is in the interest of the Delhi Municipal Corporation, for the betterment of Delhi, it will be considered. After two months, every ward, every assembly will present the final budget after discussion and it will be the budget of the heart of Delhi.
