Chelsea Should Sell Mudryk, Not Gallagher –Agbonlahor

Former Aston Villa star, Gabby Agbonlahor has warned Chelsea not to make any attempt to sell Conor Gallagher but can take the risk of selling Mykhailo Mudryk.

Recall that the Blues have struggled to get the best out of Mudryk, with the 23-year-old winger flattering to deceive.

While Mudryk has improved on his initial form, Agbonlahor believes he should be sold 12 months after his arrival.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor stated: “It’s very, very silly [rumors of the club selling Conor Gallagher to raise funds in the winter]. Let Mudryk go, he can’t run with the ball.

“For me, Gallagher is a very good player but 50 games, three goals is not good enough.

“You want to see the Conor Gallagher from Crystal Palace, eight goals in 34 games. If he can get that form back, I would keep him and then Mudryk, you go.”

Gallagher has said his “best position is as a box-to-box midfielder […] I can play deeper and I can play attacking as well” and was described by Lee Bowyer, his manager at Charlton at the time, as “an all-round midfielder. His work-rate is unreal, he puts his foot in for tackles and he can also see a pass”.
