“Decatur County is a very ag based community which supports a lot of finances and employment in our community,” he says, “and hopefully from a government perspective we can help smooth out what that transition looks like so that we can provide a high quality product that’s both beneficial to Indonesia and to Greensburg, Decatur County and the state of Indiana.”

Marsh says Greensburg already has significant international investment, and hopes this trip builds on that…

“We continue to see tremendous investment from both foreign and domestic companies in the city of Greensburg, most notably Honda Manufacturing based in Japan,” he says, “along with our seven other Japanese foreign direct investments have paid dividends for decades.”

In addition to farmers, the potential partnership stands to benefit small business. Bryan Robbins, director of economic development of Greensburg, says…

“On a smaller scale, we actually have a tempeh manufacturer in Greensburg.” He says, “Being able to actually come over here; see their processes here and help build on those connections will hopefully help her grow and help her scale up her business.”
