Harry Potter Alum Jessie Cave shares her thoughts on her former co-star Miriam Margolyes’ comments that people who are still superfans of the franchise should “get over it now.”

Cave, who played Lavender Brown in three films based on JK Rowling’s book saga, was asked about Margolyes’ statements during a recent appearance at Dream it Con. She played the main role Half-Blood Prince And deathly HallowsParts one and two.

“It’s such a shame that this happened,” she said. “You know how she is – she’s just a bit funny. And I don’t think she meant to take it that way, I hope.”

Cave added, “I really don’t like that she said that.”

Earlier this month during an interview with New Zealand’s 1News On the TV channel “Harry Potter”, Margolyes, who played Professor Pomona Sprout, said that she was worried about adults who grew up with the Harry Potter series and are still big fans of the wizarding world today.

The actress continued: “You get stuck in it. I do cameos and people say, “We’re having a Harry Potter-themed wedding and I think, ‘Gosh, what fun is their first night going to be?’ I can’t even think about it. NO.”

Margolyes starred in 2002 Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and later returned for 2011 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Although she also noted that the franchise was “wonderful” and that she was “very grateful for it,” she doubled down on her original thought and added, “It’s over.”
